Tansy Pye Writes About "Anguish"
Anguish is a piece of computer manipulated art that really comes from a
place in me that felt trapped and desperate. I was being badly bullied and
harassed by people I had thought were my friends. I considered suicide as a
way out, but somehow it just seemed too easy. Like quitting and worse,
letting them win. I found a place in myself I could retreat to and they
couldn't reach me and suddenly I realised they couldn't touch me. Not the
part of me that mattered. I found a strength inside me I didn't know I had.
I found the confidence to go out and do things on my own, try new things new
loves and hobbies, and before I knew it I had a gathered a group of
friends, who were true friends and are still my friends now. I was able to
see how shallow and false the bullies were and they lost all power over me
and gave up.
Not the happiest time of my life, but I am stronger for it. The best advice
I can give anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation is Time moves
on and time really is a great healer. You'd be amazed how small even the
biggest and most terrible things seem when you get enough distance from
them.
Tansy.
